programs
I currently use clip studio paint ex, but I recommend procreate and paint tool sai if you're looking for a cheaper option. I think fire alpaca is also a good program for people wanting to check out digital art for the first time.
tablets
I use an ipad air and an apple pencil for drawing now, but I also really enjoyed traditional drawing tablets like the wacom cintiq (pro 24 and 16 are both good, the pro is nicer, but too big for me, I think the 16 is a good middle ground). I started with the wacom intuos when I first tried digital art, but it requires a lot of hand-eye coordination that made it hard for me to draw.
for the ipad, I have a paper textured screen protector and I use a metal nib for my pen (or else the plastic nib gets worn down too fast)
brushes
- ayeoop's crinkly pen for lineart
- kayk painting brush for rendering
- ratatoing 2 (color jitter) - for texture - tbh I have no clue where I got this one, but I linked the sut file I use for CSP!
